OUTER SHELL (TICKING) / THREAD COUNTS

Thread count (TC) is a major question when consumers contemplate buying new bedding.

Thread Count takes into consideration several factors.  Those include: Thread Count and Construction, Yarn Size, Finishing and Quality of Fiber.

Thread Count and Construction:
Thread count simply refers to the number of threads woven into a per square inch of fabric.  The higher the thread count, the tighter the weave and the softer your fabric is.  The higher the thread count also determines the quality of your fabric as it provides for more comfort and durability. 

Yarn Size:  The higher the yarn size, the finer the yarn.  The finer the yarn it is, the lighter and better your quality is.

Finishing:
Fabrics need to be finished once all of the yarns are woven into a fabric.  What this process does is, it removes the tiny fuzz that can later develop into pilling on your sheets.  You can always tell when bed linens are of poor quality and have not been properly finished.

Quality of Fiber:
100 % cotton is of course the most popular.  But take into consideration there is also silk, modal, a cotton & silk combo and linen.  We use only higher thread counts of 300 or higher.  And that’s simply because we believe in making our merchandise of the best quality, comfort and durability.
